Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

MyConList (myconlist.net) is a community-driven calendar of gaming, anime, cosplay, and pop culture events. We collect as little personal data as possible: the site has no visitor accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking scripts. This policy explains what little data is processed when you use the site, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

MyConList is operated as a personal, non-commercial project based in Portugal. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@myconlist.net.

Data we process

When you browse the site, the following data may be processed:

  • Server logs: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser user agent to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors.
  • Language preference: a cookie named "locale" stores your chosen language (English or Portuguese) so the site remembers it between visits.

Cookies

The only cookie set for visitors is the strictly necessary "locale" language preference cookie. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required.

Third-party services

A small number of third parties are involved in running the site:

  • Cloudflare: hosts the site, its database, and uploaded images, and provides the Turnstile anti-bot check on admin sign-in forms. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses as part of delivering the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • CARTO: the map page loads map tiles from CARTO’s servers. When you open the map, your browser sends requests (including your IP address) directly to CARTO. See CARTO’s privacy notice at carto.com/privacy.

Legal basis

We process this data on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): operating the website securely and reliably, and remembering your language choice. No data is processed for marketing purposes.

Data retention

We do not keep personal data about visitors beyond the short-lived technical logs held by our hosting provider. The language cookie stays in your browser until it expires or you delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data concerning you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email contact@myconlist.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Portugal this is the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, cnpd.pt).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest revision. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
